A summary of this book:

It's about the Church and what it can look like today, and what it has become in many contexts, how distorted it can become. But really.... It's about being a follower of Jesus. It's about what that looks like or should look like and about how to get there... by looking at the early church that Jesus established back in Jerusalem with Peter, James, John, and the early disciples, and the church that Jesus established through Paul, Barnabas, etc, to the Gentiles. It's about going back, so the church can go forward, the way Jesus meant it to!

What did you like about the book?

I love Shaun's preaching. He's a proper gift to the church and has the ability to articulate so well the truth of the Word of God that bozo's like me can grasp and understand deep things of God.

With this book, Shaun does exactly that, he takes some complex issues that baffle much of the Western church and articulates it so well, that most folk will get it.

It's a book that is relevant for the “modern” church (Shaun will be shocked by being considered relevant to the modern church) - since this book answers questions church members should be asking.

I loved that it provoked me in my passion for the Church that Jesus is building.

What did you not like about this book?

Nothing I didn't like

Who would benefit most from reading this book?

All Christians who want to be authentic to the church that Jesus is coming back for and anyone who is captured by a religious system.

Do you recommend this book?

Yes, without reservation!

If someone reads this book, they should be aware of the following...

Shaun is infectious in his faith in Jesus, and in representing Him well, building the Church the way Jesus instructs.

So be careful, when reading this book... you too could be overcome in your quest to be part of an authentic expression of the Church that Jesus loves.
