We are really excited about introducing a Bible reading plan (Chronological Plan - ESV) in the Church!  Here are some of the reasons why we have set out to bring this in:

  • The whole Bible will be read over one year.  In this way, some parts of Scripture will not be passed over, but the whole counsel of God explored.  "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
  • As more and more people join in, we will find our unity strengthened even further.  The daily Bible readings can become topics for discussion as we meet together; community leaders can pull things out to discuss from the weekly readings, and even some Sunday messages can teach into areas touched on in the reading plan.
  • All in all, the more we get into God's Word, and the more God's Word gets into us, the better!

Let us be a people who are soaked in the Word and filled with the Holy Spirit. "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom..." (Colossians 3:16).  "Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18).

A good prayer to pray before each reading is found in Psalm 119:18, "Open my eyes that I may behold the wondrous things out of Your Word."

Enjoy the Word of God with us!
