Jesus said that what mattered most to Him is that His people Loved Him with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength and that His people loved their neighbours as themselves. What greater vision can any believer have than to fulfil this mandate which Jesus has placed before us? He has made it possible for us to know His love toward us through the Word of God, the display of extravagant love in the giving of His Son Jesus 2000 years ago and through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit with, in and through His people! We pray that EVERY believer in the church would be united in heart, mind and purpose, to grasp how wide and long and high the love of Jesus is, and to KNOW this love that SURPASSES knowledge – that we may be FILLED to the measure of ALL the FULLNESS of God!
However, this FULLNESS is not just for us to enjoy for ourselves. As L. Newbigin wrote, “The gracious indwelling of the God with His people is not an invitation to settle down and forget the rest of the world: it is a summons to mission, for the Lord who dwells with His people is the one who goes before them in the pillar of fire and cloud.” We are not called to mediocre, safe-living, sub-urban Christianity, but to a life of adventure in Him as we are led by His Holy Spirit. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, a powerful kingdom, a righteous kingdom and a kingdom that astounds and dazzles today! Jesus came to give us the kingdom of God and taught us to pray that today His kingdom would come, His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. We are His ‘burning ones’ on the earth for the display of His splendour! So, as part of our Vision, we want to obey the mandate from Jesus to “go into all the world, and make disciples of all nations.” Our desire is to fulfil this mandate by a method which we see clearly unpacked in Scripture and which we have learned from amazing men and their wives such as Dudley Daniels and the NCMI Apostolic/Prophetic Team with whom we have been in partnership with in years gone by. This method is very simple and yet devastatingly effective:
As for our values, they are best summed up in Acts 2:42-47. This includes being a people who are filled with the Spirit and led by the Spirit and who are devoted/committed to: the Word of God, the fellowship (local church), prayer and breaking of bread. We are devoted to being an extravagant people with our generosity toward one another and the church, as well as with our praise and worship to our incredible God! We love meeting together in each others homes and eating together and sharing our lives with one another. These and more are the things that we hold dear to as a church.
May God continue to unite our hearts for His Glory both in this church and the church universal!
So, I studied music with in the intention on teaching after my degree but half way through, we were told that we needed a PGCE to be able to teach in schools. (You must understand we were already doing education subjects for our degree so it was not the best news.) So currently I am teaching part time at Woodridge, but I’ve been praying for a full-time job for next year at a school in PE.
