At the heart of the gospel message is Jesus Christ Himself. Not only does He offer us forgiveness of sins upon repentance, and eternal life, but He offers us Himself!
The greatest fact of the gospel has got to be that we can have a relationship with the living God through His Son, Jesus, and come to know Him intimately.
Our desire as a church is for people to know Jesus Christ more and more, and to come to maturity in Him. We desire that He would truly be our all and our everything.
Jesus alone is our Saviour – only the blood of Jesus can cleanse from all sin.
Jesus is our Righteousness – only through Him can we approach God freely.
He is our Great High Priest, always interceding for us.
Jesus Christ is our Healer – by His wounds we are made whole.
Jesus is also the Head of the Church, which is His Body, of which we are a part. The Bible says we have been baptised into Him.
He is also our Faithful Friend and so much more!
Our desire is to live for Him and Him alone.
Our aim is to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified and risen from the dead.
Our pleasure is to bring Him glory, worship and praise. He alone is worthy of all glory!
The time and space allowed here is not sufficient to tell of the wonders of our amazing and glorious King (the Bible says He has ascended far above all heavens that He might fill all things!)
We would need a lifetime and more to begin to tell who Jesus really is, for He is God Himself, manifested in the flesh, the exact representation of the Father.
But let me echo here the words of a fellow lover of Jesus Christ:
“He (Jesus) is so vastly wonderful, so utterly and completely delightful, that He can, without anything other than Himself, meet and overflow the deepest demands of our total nature, mysterious and deep as that nature may be.” (A.W.Tozer)
It is our privilege to know Him, to be known by Him, and to make Him known to all.
My parents have struggled financially for years (almost 10 years now). Through these tough situations is how I actually came to rely on God and give my life over to Him (2004-ish). Through the years, my parents have asked me for money and sometimes I’ve loaned them money and sometimes I haven’t. Early on through wisdom from elders, I learnt that I should never “loan” money, I should rather “give” money with no expectation of receiving it back so that there is freedom in giving and no guilt put onto a relationship or a person. This was difficult for me as I thought in order to honour and respect my parents (a commandment) I needed to help them when they needed help. I had to make a stand for Jesus in my life and say that I couldn’t help them financially anymore. I had to separate myself from my earthly parents and follow what my Heavenly Father says is right and true. 2 Corinthians 12:14 “… After all, children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children”.
